Some of you might remember that I spent a summer in Merida, Venezuela in 1998. The flight that I took from Caracas to Merida was one of the most frightening of my life- Merida is high in the Andes mountains, and the plane was small, and in order to land in Merida the pilots have to do some very unusual turns and twists. I honestly thought we would crash, despite having been warned about how dramatic the flight was.
All this to say that sadly, a plane flying that flight has crashed in the Andes mountains, and they suspect all 43 passengers and the 3 crew to be dead. Please pr for the families of the people on the plane.
I've included a news link:

Also, could you pr for my roommate/best friend? She's being evacuated from Serbia, where she had been working to set up an uncensored media outlet in Belgrade (with the US Gov support).
ReplyDeleteYour PR is much appreciated. Thanks!
I was just about to add Lauren's friend A to this blog and ask people to pr for her especially since she's being evacuated from Serbia, but Lauren beat me to it. I've never been in that situation but it could easily be any one of us who frequently travels. Please pr for her that she'd get safely out of Serbia. If you've missed what's going on in Serbia per the Kosovo independence declaration you can read on CNN at
