My last post was early in the morning here, and I just wanted to put up a quick update before my living proof friends went off to CCBC for the morning service. :) Now that I'm awake and around here, I thought I'd write a bit more! :)
This week I've been staying very busy with business, as I was mentioning before. 361 Photography has sort of become the 361 Photography Group now, with 3 separate streams of photography that function a bit like individual businesses. For tax purposes they're still under the same company name, otherwise we'd have triple the paperwork for no reason just yet! For those who are finding it hard to keep track, here's a little summary:
1. 361 Photography- business to business photography, covers business events, photos for marketing, stuff like that.
2. Cambridge Wedding Photography- grew from doing a few small scale weddings to now having a web site being developed and targeting the higher end of the wedding market in Cambridge, which is substantial
3. 361 Wild- began as a few workshops for the Raptor Foundation, now a new web site is in development phase 1 and we have agreed a schedule of photography and camera skills workshops for all of 2011. In the next 2 months we'll be sorting out a scouting trip to Michigan with the hopes that we can partner with local wildlife personnel to have 1 to 2 week trips from the UK to Michigan focusing on the unique wolves and moose populations there.
Hope that makes it a bit clearer- I've been much more able to work on business development the past 2 weeks than I have in probably 3 years. When I started doing photography here on a small scale I'd hoped to make something larger of it, but as things happened in our personal lives I didn't have the mental capacity to reach the potential business that I knew was there. I feel very blessed by Gd to be growing a business and on track again, and with a few more ideas kicking around as well. :)
In other news I've been studying the bbl with a friend and making a sort of map of the kings and prophets of the OT, going through and finding out who did what when, who was the next king, was he good or bad, and how did that affect the people. It's been great for understanding the prophets' books- rather than seeming mysterious, they now make total sense because I can see them in the context of their historical setting. If you've never made a sort of chronology tree of the kings I definitely recommend it!
It's been pretty warm here, it was sunny yesterday but back to clouds again today- I was hoping to have a go at photographing some birds, but it's just too dark for it even at noon! Speaking of birds, I won first place in the camera club competition 2 weeks ago with my panel of Scottish wildlife! :)
